Abu Dhabi E311 Speed Limit Cut to 100 km/h: What Drivers Must Know

Effective September 14, 2026, Abu Dhabi Mobility has officially reduced the speed limit on a section of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Road (E311). The limit has been decreased from 120 km/h to 100 km/h in both directions. This adjustment applies to the corridor between Tawi Al Qaymah / At Turoush Street and Al Khayr Street, encompassing the areas surrounding Al Shamkhah, Madinat Al Riyad, and Baniyas Cemetery. This road segment, known as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road within Dubai, serves as a vital corridor for commuters traveling between the two emirates.
- New speed limit is 100 km/h in both directions on the E311.
- Affected area is between Tawi Al Qaymah / At Turoush Street and Al Khayr Street.
- Abu Dhabi does not have a speed buffer, and radars catch speeds just 1 km/h over the limit.
