Readers should know what part, if any, a machine played in what they are reading.
The rule
No article is published on Arab Times UAE without a human journalist verifying its facts and taking responsibility for it. Every story carries a human byline, and the person named is accountable for it under our Editorial Policy.
Where we may use AI tools
- Research assistance — summarising long official documents, or pointing us to sources we then read ourselves
- Language and structure — copy-editing, translation drafts, headline suggestions and formatting
- Production — transcription, tagging, and generating summaries of our own published work
In every case the output is checked by a journalist against the primary source before it reaches a reader.
Where we do not use AI tools
- We do not publish AI-generated articles unreviewed.
- We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, statistics or events.
- We do not publish AI-generated images or audio of real people or real events. Where an illustration is AI-generated, it is labelled.
- We do not use AI as a source. A model's answer is a lead to check, never a fact to publish.
Accountability
An error is our error, whatever tool produced it. AI involvement is never offered as an excuse, and any resulting mistake is corrected under our Corrections Policy.
