The Gulf Cooperation Council is nearing the launch of its anticipated Unified Gulf Tourist Visa. Speaking at the Security and History Dialogue 2026, Albudaiwi stated that the initiative will strengthen regional integration, boost the tourism sector, and position the GCC as a cohesive, integrated travel destination. The project has reached its final stages of technical and administrative preparation, with immigration and interior ministries coordinating on security, data integration, and shared visa systems. The plan was originally approved by GCC Interior Ministers in November 2023, with subsequent efforts led by passport departments and technical committees.

Despite the positive progress, authorities have clarified that the visa is not yet available for public application. Crucial details remain unannounced, including the official launch date, final eligibility criteria for various nationalities, application fees, stay duration, insurance requirements, and whether the permit will be single-entry or multiple-entry. Officials have strongly advised the public against making advance payments to travel agents or unofficial entities claiming that the booking process has started. Travelers currently planning trips to any of these six nations are urged to follow existing country-specific visa regulations until an official announcement is made.
