Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) claimed responsibility for striking and detaining the Togo-flagged oil tanker M/T Trend this morning. The vessel was set on fire for an alleged illegal passage through the Strait of Hormuz, occurring 16 nautical miles northeast of Khasab, Oman. The IRGC Navy stated the ship was deceived by the U.S. military into navigating the waterway without Iranian authorization. UKMTO confirmed a security incident in the area Thursday night. Iran continues to seek a toll regime for the strait, while Washington maintains it is an international waterway. Simultaneously, Houthi drones targeted Saudi airspace, resulting in casualties in Taif. Saudi Civil Defence reported that intercepted drone wreckage killed a Yemeni resident, wounded a Saudi woman, and critically injured a Pakistani man, while buildings and vehicles sustained damage. Abu Dhabi's Foreign Ministry condemned an alleged Houthi drone attempt against Mecca, which the Houthis denied. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree stated that Saudi F-15s conducted 40 strikes across Taiz, Marib, and Hodeidah, and claimed a Saudi F-15 was downed over Marib by a surface-to-air missile.
