The Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait signed the agreement with the Ministry of Interior and Takamol Holding. PAM Director General Eng. Rabab Al-Osaimi said the main goal is to measure and verify worker skills before they arrive in Kuwait. Takamol Holding CEO Ahmed Al-Yamani stated that the work will start by making a unified Kuwaiti professional guide. This guide will set the rules for professions and skills needed in the job market. Takamol has about 200 testing centers in countries that send workers abroad. The company has done nearly 1.5 million tests for workers going to Gulf countries and gives certificates in 160 countries.
This change is important for Indian workers in Kuwait in private, construction, technical, and service jobs. PAM has not yet said which jobs or countries will be tested first. They also have not given a start date, so the testing is not mandatory right now. Workers who want jobs in Kuwait may need to focus on their trade certificates and skill tests soon. Employers and agencies will choose workers based more on their qualifications. This plan is part of Kuwait's goal to make hiring more clear and stop visa problems.
