The Philippine Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Dubai and Northern Emirates has announced that
it will begin accepting debit and credit card payments for walk-in services starting Monday, 14 September 2026. This policy change, outlined in MWO-Dubai Advisory No. 21, Series of 2026, issued on 9 September 2026, applies to the MWO office located at Villa No. 2, Street 2C, Beirut Street, near Al Qusais Police Station, Dubai. The electronic Point-of-Sale (POS) payment facility will be available for five specific services:
Balik-Manggagawa contract verification, employer accreditation and job-order processing, rehire processing, direct hire processing, and Tadbeer hiring. While card payments are now an option, the office will continue to accept cash. The official contract verification fee remains AED 40, with no increase in government charges; however, users may incur additional bank or card network charges and VAT depending on their specific card. Labor Attaché Atty. John Rio A. Bautista stated that the implementation of the POS facility follows recurring requests from Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), employers, and principals for more convenient payment methods. The update is intended to assist the large Filipino community and employers across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain.
Alternative processing methods remain available, including the Online Employment Contract Verification System at dmw.dataflowgroup.com and VFS Global business centers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. MWO authorities reiterated that on-site verification remains a one-day process for complete documentation and cautioned the public against dealing with unauthorized fixers, noting that
only the official cashier is authorized to collect payments. The MWO Dubai office is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
