The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai have officially launched Punjab Land Record Services in collaboration with the Punjab Land Records Authority, providing relief to more than 1.5 million Pakistani expatriates residing in the UAE. Announced between 8-9 September 2026, the initiative allows Pakistani residents who own agricultural land, houses, or plots in Punjab to secure official land ownership documents, known as Fards, without the need to travel back to Pakistan. Here are the key details of this new service:
- Available directly through the UAE diplomatic missions.
- No need to visit Arazi Record Centres in Punjab.
- Helps stop document fraud, delays, and financial burdens.
The new service enables applicants to obtain Fards, access various property-related services provided by the PLRA, and verify land records directly through the diplomatic missions, eliminating the requirement to visit Arazi Record Centres in Punjab.
Interested nationals may access these services by contacting the 24/7 helplines of the Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General in Dubai, or by visiting these locations during official working hours. Applicants must provide their original Computerized National Identity Card or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis, a passport, and any relevant existing property documentation.
Government officials stated that this facility is part of a broader mandate from Islamabad to digitize public services for overseas Pakistanis, following a similar launch previously implemented in the United Kingdom.
This service is designed to address issues such as document fraud, delays, and the financial burden previously associated with relying on relatives or agents to manage property matters, such as bank loans, land disputes, or sales. The UAE, which hosts one of the largest Pakistani communities in the Gulf and serves as a major source of remittances, is expected to see significant utilization of this service across all professional sectors, including construction workers, drivers, and business owners.
