Candidates who pass the test at an accredited overseas center are exempt from repeating the examination upon reaching Qatar, provided the relevant food establishment proceeds with the professional practice license application. Following the exam, a detailed performance report is generated, highlighting a candidate's strengths and areas requiring further training, which employers can use to tailor onboarding programs.

While this service is now operational, the MoPH emphasized that the overseas examination is currently optional and not a mandatory requirement for securing a job or a work visa. Successfully passing the test does not guarantee employment, immigration clearance, or a contract, as all standard recruitment and visa protocols must still be followed. The Ministry is working toward making professional practice licenses mandatory in the future, though no implementation date or final procedures have been finalized yet. The Food Handler Licensing Programme, which has been operational since 2021, has already issued licenses to 10,630 workers. This new overseas component is an expansion of the existing framework aimed at enhancing food safety standards. Indian candidates and other international applicants are advised to exercise caution and avoid unofficial claims from agents or social media advertisements regarding the necessity of this exam.
