Houthi-aligned media reported three civilian deaths in Taiz, including two children. In the broader regional conflict, the Houthis have seized Mocha, Perim (Mayun), and the Hanish islands, establishing presence near the Bab el-Mandeb strait. Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz remains strained; an unknown projectile struck a vessel there on Monday, according to UKMTO. Iran has listed 77 ships for alleged protocol violations, and planned talks in Oman to address maritime security were postponed. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated the Houthis act independently, despite reports from regional and Yemeni government sources alleging IRGC involvement in the Mocha offensive.
Diplomatic efforts include a meeting between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper in Jeddah, and a discussion between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed. At the BRICS summit in New Delhi, UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree has warned of further deep-Kingdom strikes, while Saudi Civil Defence issued alerts for Khamis Mushait, Abha, Jazan, Najran, Yanbu, Taif, Jeddah, and AlUla.
